INDICATIONS FOR USE
Microsuture is
indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including
use in microsurgical, cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures.
ACTIONS
GEM Microsuture elicits a minimal acute inflammatory
reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by
fibrous connective tissue.1
TENSILE STRENGTH
As with any nylon suture, though not
absorbed, progressive hydrolysis of the suture in vivo may result in gradual loss
of tensile strength over time. Nylon suture should not be used where permanent
retention of tensile strength is required.1
STERILIZATION
Ethylene oxide.
